Try These 5 Restaurants on Tempura Day Around Michiana

There are many things to love about living in the Michiana area, including the incredible variety of dining options. If you love to eat out, you're not alone. Our real estate agents are constantly exploring local restaurants so they can offer recommendations to new residents. 

Since there are so many great Asian restaurants here, we were excited to learn that National Tempura Day is coming up on January 7th. Here are a few of the best local places for you to get your tempura fix. 

  1. Woochi Japanese Fusion & Bar: 119 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46601
    One of the top 10 fine dining destinations in the greater South Bend region, Woochi Japanese Fusion & Bar offers incredible sushi and Japanese dishes in a unique, upscale environment. If you're been looking at South Bend homes for sale, you'll definitely want to familiarize yourself with this incredible restaurant! They're known for their incredibly fresh seafood and a full bar that serves up some of the best martinis in the area. Start your evening off with some shrimp or vegetable tempura, then enjoy a hibachi entree, sushi platter, Asian fusion entree, or a rice or noodle dish.

  2. Pinellia Vegan Asian Restaurant: 3601 Edison Rd. Ste. D, South Bend, IN 46615
    Vegans can enjoy tempura too! Pinella Vegan Asian Restaurant offers delicious, authentic Asian cuisine with no animal products. We recommend the Yam & Taro tempura, the Cold Noodles (cold green-tea noodles tossed in sesame sauce), and the Tofu Teriyaki. They have a huge menu, so you'll want to come back and visit time and time again.

  3. Zing Japanese Fusion: 206 N. Main St., Mishawaka, IN 46544
    A combination sushi and hibachi restaurant, Zing Japanese Fusion offers a wide range of meal options, including incredible sashimi and tempura. They were also named one of the Top 10 Dining Destinations in the South Bend Region by Midwest Living Magazine. We recommend starting with a shrimp tempura appetizer or choosing an entree like the Chicken Katsu Tempura or the Seafood Combo Tempura with shrimp, scallop, and Kani (crab). When you're done with your meal, plan to take the scenic route home so you can get a look at some of the great Mishawaka homes for sale.

    When you visit Hana Yori of Japan, you won't just enjoy great food. One of the best things about this restaurant is the unique and memorable setting. In fact, it's been a favorite among locals since 1987. 
    You'll love the expert chefs that cook great food while also entertaining you. Enjoy teppanyaki, sushi, or tempura — and don't forget their beloved egg yolk sauce! 

  5. Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi: 728 S. US Hwy 131, Three Rivers, MI 49093
    If you're in the area looking at Three Rivers homes for sale, plan to stop at Tokyo Steakhouse & Sushi for lunch or dinner. This restaurant is known as a cornerstone of the community thanks to its modern interpretation of classic dishes made with high-quality fresh ingredients. They offer traditional tempura shrimp and vegetables.
