- Ice skating at Howard Park
Make it a traditional winter and holiday season by going ice skating in Howard Park, located at 219 South St. Louis Boulevard. Skates are available for rent at the park. Ice skating is offered in 90 minute sessions weekday evenings and all day Saturday and Sunday, with a couple of kids-only sessions during the day on Fridays. Check the website for a more complete schedule.
- Lights at Fernwood
During the holidays, Fernwood Botanical Gardens celebrates the season by decorating the gardens in holiday lights. See the gardens like you've never seen them before, warm up by the fire pits, and treat yourself to steaming cups of hot cocoa and apple cider as well as a variety of holiday snacks. Timed tickets can be purchased for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings, from 5 pm until 9 pm. Fernwood is located at 13988 Range Line Road in Niles.
